In our most recent "how can we help you?" thread, a reader asks:

Several undergraduate students in my Plato seminar wrote very interesting papers, and I want to suggest some venues where they might present their work. So far, I have identified the following annual undergraduate philosophy conferences:

– Cornell University’s Norman Kretzmann Undergraduate Philosophy Conference
– University of Toronto’s Undergraduate Philosophy Research Conference
– Pacific University's Undergraduate Philosophy Conference
– Eastern Michigan University's Undergraduate Conference in Philosophy

Are there any other undergraduate philosophy conferences I should know about or that you would recommend? Thank you!

Do any readers have any tips?

  1. Postdoc

If you’re in the Nordic countries, Nordphil is an annual one: https://sites.google.com/view/nordphil/home

  2. Singapore

For those in Asia, there is an annual Singapore Undergraduate Philosophy Conference. I believe the host rotates between the two schools in Singapore with a philosophy major: NUS and NTU.

  3. When I was a graduate student, there were a lot of undergraduate / graduate mixed conferences at universities in Georgia, Florida, Kentucky, Tennessee, and the Carolinas. I think it would be worth searching for graduate conferences and checking whether they also have some sessions for undergraduates. It’s a fairly common arrangement even if it’s advertised for graduate students, especially if the host university does not have a graduate program.

  4. Russell Marcus maintains a helpful resource that I believe is frequently updated:

  5. All this is incredibly helpful! I had no idea about Russell Marcus’ webpage. It will be my go-to from now on. Thank you very much!!
