Some Cocooners might already be aware of our annual online undergrad philosophy conference. We've extended the deadline for submissions this year to February 1, 2014. Please encourage your students to submit! In many cases, we expect, term papers that students wrote for philosophy courses last semester will be usable as submissions for our conference.

This project is a collaboration between the Philosophy Dept. at UMass-Dartmouth, the Jackson Family Center for Ethics & Values at Coastal Carolina University, and Philosophy TV (http://philostv.com/). Maureen Eckert and I are the principal faculty organizers.

The theme of our conference is Meaning–broadly construed. We intend this to be a very inclusive theme. We will accept papers on a wide range of topics connected with meaning, in a wide range of subfields, including philosophy of language, mind, logic, continental philosophy, social/political philosophy, and value theory.

To download a pdf of the CFP (suitable for being printed and posted in a hallway or on a door!) please see here: http://philostv.com/meaning/

Our efforts from last year can be seen here: http://www.coastalethics.org/

If you have any questions or suggestions, please email me (dkilloren@coastal.edu) and Maureen (meckert@umassd.edu). Thanks!
