Last year, I presented a report using job-ad data I collected from philjobs on "where the jobs are" (and, more depressingly, aren't) in philosophy. This year, someone suggested that I do another report, and so I have. This morning, I went through every job posted to philjobs dating back to September 1st, and here is what I found:
Total # of TT jobs: 152
TT jobs at research colleges: 112
TT jobs at teaching colleges: 40
Total # of non-TT jobs: 97
non-TT at research colleges: 78
non-TT at teaching colleges: 19
Although I only went back to Sept. 1 (some–but not many–jobs are advertised before then), and although philjobs probably under-reports teaching jobs (especially community college jobs, which tend to be advertised at higheredjobs), my first intuitive reaction is that these are terrible numbers. It's also particularly interesting to see that research jobs outnumber teaching jobs by a ratio of roughly 3.5: 1 (though, again, philjobs probably under-reports teaching jobs).
Here is a rough breakdown of TT jobs by advertised AOS, from most to least (important note: the numbers reported below do not add up to the numbers above because some jobs advertise multiple AOS):

Some final reflections:
- Most jobs this year appear to be "open"–even more so than last year.
- Ethics and Applied Ethics still seem to be doing far better, comparatively, than other AOS (though political philosophy jobs appear to be few in number).
- Philosophy of Science seems to be enjoying a relatively good year (for a "small", very specialized AOS).
- Some traditionally "core" areas of philosophy, including epistemology and (especially) philosophy of language are in low demand.
