In our newest "how can we help you?" thread, T asks:

Can anyone provide or point me to journal rankings for philosophy of religion?

I'm not sure if there are any journal rankings here, but if there are, feel free to link to them. Otherwise, it might be helpful to T to hear from readers who work in philosophy of religion how you rank the journals!

  1. Working in PoR

    1st Tier (3 journals)
Faith and Philosophy, Religious Studies, Oxford Studies in Philosophy of Religion
Note: There’s disagreement over how to rank these 3. But I think among specialists in PoR, more lean towards ranking F&P over RS
    Second Tier (3 journals):
Journal of Analytic Theology, International Journal for Philosophy of Religion, European Journal for Philosophy of Religion
Note: Some specialists think JAT is above both IJPR and EJPR
    Third Tier (the rest)
Sophia, Philosophia Christi, American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly, TheoLogica, Heythrop Journal

    Thanks!

Just to note agreement with Working in PoR’s nice summary.

One can also consult the latest Scimago Journal Ranks, though this yields a ranking somwhat different from what philosophers of religion tend to think and feel (cf. the first comment):
    1. TheoLogica
    2. Faith and Philosophy
    3. Religious Studies
    4. International Journal for Philosophy of Religion
    5. Sophia
    6. European Journal for Philosophy of Religion
    7. American Catholic Philosophical Quarterly
    8. Philosophia Christi
    9. Heythrop Journal
    Three observations:
    1. TL is first, though this may be partly due to the relatively high number of papers it publishes.
    2. Sophia ranks better than EJPR.
    3. Two prominent journals are not ranked: Oxford Studies in Philosophy of Religion and Journal of Analytic Theology.
