I am delighted to welcome our newest contributor, Helen De Cruz, to the Cocoon. Helen earned her PhD from the University of Groningen in 2011, is completing a British Academy post-doc at Oxford, and will be Assistant Professor at VU University Amsterdam beginning in January 2015.

Helen specializes in the philosophy of cognitive science and philosophy of religion, and has also published in general philosophy of science, epistemology, and aesthetics. Her primary research project is to provide an empirically-informed philosophical account of human-specific domains of culture such as science, religion and mathematics. She has published in many places, including Philosophical Studies, Dialectica, Topoi, Philosophy Compass, Zygon, Synthese, International Journal for Philosophy of Religion, Behavioral & Brain Sciences. Finally, she has a book (co-authored with Johan De Smedt) under contract with MIT Press entitled, "A natural history of natural theology. The cognitive science of theology and philosophy of religion."
