I realized recently that the Cocoon was launched five years ago this month. Although I'm sure I (and other bloggers?) have written ill-considered things on occasion, I think our contributors have tried hard to contribute in a positive manner to discussion of early-career issues, and hope readers have found the blog helpful as a whole. It has, at any rate, been a real delight to get to know so many of you, both online and offline, and to discuss and debate early-career issues with you all.
Anyway, because it's a milestone of sorts, I thought it might be nice–and perhaps helpful for readers who are new to the blog–if we had some kind of retrospective review of where the blog has been. Hopefully this isn't too self-indulgent, but I think we've had some good posts over the years by many different authors–as well as a number of unique series–that might be worth revisiting. So, while blogging will continue as usual this month, that's what I think I'll do: dedicate each of the five weeks in this month to reviewing some highlights for each year (e.g. the top-five posts each year by blogger by social-media shares, each year's major series, etc.).
I hope you enjoy the retrospective, but above all, thanks for reading and contributing to our community these past five years!
