I came across this helpful poster on social media yesterday. It sums up a lot of advice I have heard recently that seems right to me, and which I myself plan to adopt:

One response to “Online teaching poster: ‘do this, not that’”

I don’t think that synchronous teaching should be just avoided, as this poster suggests. For small groups (less than 10–15 people) I still think it is a great solution, one can almost reconstruct the same atmosphere of a normal class.
“Don’t try new methods” also seems unrealistic. Surely I had to try new methods, given that the situation is new. It took me time and energy, and it was in part demanding also on the side of students —but at times also fun.
