In our newest "how can we help you?" thread, a reader asks:

I saw a few discussions here and in other blogs about journal rankings, but only very little about rankings of journals that specialize in philosophy of religion. I would appreciate if people could share their insights as to how they think the different journals are viewed in the field, and what other differences there are between the journals.

Any readers in philosophy of religion willing to weigh in?

In no particular order within each tier:
Tier 1: Phil Religion, Faith & Philosophy
Tier 2: International Journal for Phil Religion, Journal of Analytic Theology, American Catholic Phil Quart, Sophia
    Tier 3: Philosophia Christi
Note: European Journal of Philosophy of Religion used to be in tier 2, but then changed radically, publishing stuff that looks more like cultural studies.
I’d also note that a number of generalist journal are happy to publish phil religion articles as well. Pacific Phil Quarterly published several articles on the nature of faith.

I’m not sure if jmugg meant the journal Religious Studies by “Phil Religion” in Tier 1, but I suspect so. Otherwise, I am not aware what they are referring too. Tier 3 should probably include the International Journal of Philosophy and Theology.
Many theology+philosophy journals in more confessional circles also do a fair amount of philosophy of religion (like The Heythrop Journal, New Blackfriars, and Philosophy and Theology [from Marquette] in Catholic circles). Of course, including these may depend on ones idea of the field and personal positions.

    This, also, is useful: https://www.pjip.org/ranking-index.html?searchCols=%5Bnull,null,{%22search%22:%22RLGN%22}]

It’s also possible jmugg’s “Phil Religion” refers to Oxford Studies in the Philosophy of Religion (OSPR)
In any case, I’d put OSPR, Religious Studies, and Faith&Philosophy in that first tier.

Do you guys all see IJPR on equal footing as the rest of the second tier? I thought it was generally considered higher
