Yener Çağla Çimendereli (Old Dominion University & Syracuse University), Filippo Contesi (University of Cagliari), and Masaharu Mizumoto (Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology) write in:

We are reaching out to you concerning the Cagliari Statement on Linguistic and Conceptual Justice in AI. It is a statement co-created by myself, Filippo Contesi, and Masaharu Mizumoto (CC’d) and improved by other philosophers who are worried about potential injustices resulting from cross-linguistic deference in AI-models that are mainly trained in English. The purpose of the statement is to bring attention to these injustices and call for multilingual alignment in AI models. The statement was drafted in the 6th European Experimental Philosophy Conference in Cagliari, and we have recently started collecting signatures. (Here is the link to sign the statement)

This is a really interesting statement that I would encourage readers to check out and consider signing onto!
