Long time readers may recall that I've thrown some small Cocoon parties at a few recent Eastern APAs. Well, I missed the Eastern this year, but I'm at the Pacific and someone asked whether I'm throwing another party, so I figured sure, why not? I've already run into a few of you here, and it seems like we might be able to get a nice little crowd together. So then, who's game? As in past years, I would provide the room, snacks, music, and refreshments; you would bring good cheer–and we would all hang out for a few hours in an environment consistent with the Cocoon's safe and supportive mission (no meanness or sleaziness permitted!). I have some plans Thursday evening, and am leaving Saturday afternoon, so Friday's probably the only night I could do it (maybe 10:30 Friday?). Anyone in? Just shoot me an email at marvan@ut.edu or facebook me to "RSVP" by, let's say, Friday mid-day, and we'll go from there. Anyone at the APA who reads the Cocoon is invited (not just contibutors)! Obviously, there's a principled upper limit to how many people we can fit in a room–and we have to be respectful to neighbors with noise–but this hasn't been a problem in past years. Hope to hear from some of you, and if it doesn't work with enough of our schedules, maybe we can organize a meetup at the hotel restaurant/bar!
