I love doing philosophy and being part of the ongoing conversations in the literature, but I don’t necessarily feel the need to be a university professor. I know there are some independent scholars out there who do good work and are part of what’s going on in philosophy, and I wanted to ask what it’s like.
Are there independent scholars who can share their experiences, and share if they feel disadvantaged or left out in some way as philosophers because they aren’t affiliated with an institution?
Good question! Any independent scholars out there willing to weigh in?
